Learn to Skate
IceWorld offers a broad spectrum of ice skating programs for all ages and abilities. We are also home to the Chesapeake Figure Skating Club, a locally run, non profit organization dedicated to advancing the sport and art of figure skating here in north central Maryland.
IceWorld offers a comprehensive group lesson program for youngsters age 4 and up, including adults. Our philosophy is to provide top notch, professional
instruction for beginner through advanced skaters in a relaxed and fun environment. Learn to Skate is based on the fundamentals of the U.S. Figure
Skating Association (USFSA) and is necessary for those wishing to proceed on to ice hockey or freestyle.
Share the Fun of Ice Skating With Your Children! Great for ALL Children. Music, Fun, Games and Instruction on the Ice. Enjoy the ice without the crowds! Tuesday Mornings at 11am.
If you used to skate in childhood, or have always wanted to, we have a program for you! Get started with our Group Lessons for Adults Only on Thursday evenings or Tuesday Mornings- and bring a friend!.
Freestyle Lessons are for skaters who have completed IceWorld's LEARN TO SKATE program or have passed the USFS Basic Eight Level. Through the Freestyle Classes, skaters will develeop proper jump and spin techniques as well as learning selected moves in the field.
Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, and Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field Lessons are now available in a group setting at Ice World. Use these lessons to begin your Moves training or augment the time you spend in private instruction.
The USFS Bridge Program is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace in a group lesson environment. This program introduces skaters to a "training program" and offers them an introduction to all of the elements of skating. The program content includes jumps and spins, moves in the field, ice dancing, 0ff-ice warm-up routines and stretching. This class is intended for skaters who are currently enrolled in group or freestyle lessons or work with a private instructor.
This is the place to be when school is out! Any day that Harford County Public Schools are closed, we are here for you with Full-Day mini camps from 9 am to 3:30 pm. These camp days are an outstanding opportunity to increase skating competency while enjoying the fun and recreation in ice skating. We have tracks for Basic Skills, Freestyle, and Competitive Freestyle skaters.
