Youth Programs

It's the coolest sport on earth! And you can learn to play right here at IceWorld. We offer a variety of 'learn to play' programs for youth through adults. We offer outstanding coaching as well as reasonable ice times and a schedule that can meet your needs.

Combined Power Skating Class with a Stick & Puck Session

Join us for this special one hour program. During the first half hour, polish your power skating skills with instruction provided by our expceptional staff of hockey pros. During the second half hour, knock the puck around with family and friends. All ages are welcome.

The Power Skating Class is designed to improve the speed and mobility of hockey players of all ages and abilities. The class includes edge work, forward stride, and quick starts. The skating skills and skating drills are all hockey specific. Full gear is required to participate in this class.

If you come just for the Stick & Puck aspect of this session, you need only wear a helmet and gloves.

Time: Saturdays, 8:15 to 9:15 am Please note, time changes to 8:00 am on January 9th and 23rd.

Cost: $12 per session for the first family member. $7 per session for each additional family member.

Each session is limited to the first 30 skaters.


Hockey Basics

Ice World offers high quality Hockey Basics instruction for boys and girls, ages 4 to15. Each program is 6 weeks long, can be repeated, and when successfully completed, will prepare the child for Recreational League play.

North Stars Rec Hockey Skills Clinic

Sundays, Noon to 12:50 pm

September 13 to October 4, 2009

Focus: Skating, Shooting, Stick Handling, and Passing.

North Stars Rec Skills sessions are designed to improve hockey skills at all ages and abilities. The sessions are divided into station work with different coaches focusing on certain skills at each station. The class is designed to give each player a high amount of repetitions at a relatively quick pace to increase their individual skills. The class will be run by high level coaches that have experience working in skills session settings.

Cost: $12 per session. Drop Ins Welcome. Full Gear Required


U-10 Summer Youth Rec Hockey

Ice World is pleased to announce the details of our 2009 Summer Hockey League for youth under 10! This program is designed to help you keep your competitve edge during the 'off season.' Stay in shape while having fun in the summer!

U-14 Summer Youth Hockey

The details of our 2009 U-14 Summer Youth Hockey Program are now available. The program is open to all roller or ice hockey players who have completed Hockey Basics or other clinic / instructional programs. The goal of the program is to give beginning players an opportunity to play and develop ice hockey skills in a structured league, and to offer more experienced players the chance to keep their skills sharp during the off-season. Boys and girls between 10 and 13 are eligible to play. Age divisions will be based on enrollment.

High School Summer Hockey League

The details of the 2009 Ice World Summer High School Hockey League are now available. This league is intended to help you keep your competitve edge during the 'off season'. It is open to Boys and Girls entering 9th grade through completion of 12th grade in the Spring of 2009. This league will give players the opportunity to stay in shape while having fun in the summer!

Stick & Puck

Ages 14 and Under. Stick 'n Puck sessions provide the opportunity to sharpen player skills and provide extra practice time. A chance to work on skating, stick handling, shooting and passing. Parents are welcome to play!
