Jodie TimmIns

Skating Coach/Ice World Skating Director

Jodie grew up skating in the Chicago area and has been at Ice World since 2015. She works with skaters from beginners of all ages through Freeskate 6 taking the skater and their family through their first skate purchases, shows, tests & competitions. Specializes in helping skaters with special needs. USFS Gold Medalist Skating Skills and one Pre Silver Ice Dance, actively pursuing her Gold. Rated Certified Group Instructor, Certified Program Director and Level 1 Ranking by the Professional Skaters Association. Current Skating Director & Program Coordinator, Social Media & Marketing Assistant, Learn to Skate and private lesson coach at Ice World. Former board member of The Next Ice Age, co -created the Totsicles Program for our youngest skaters. Teaches basic skating skills, Freestyle, Moves in the Field & Hockey Skating skills for ages 4 through adult. Accepting a limited number of private students.

Graduate of Notre Dame Prep, B.S. in Exercise Science from Towson University. Figure Skating Club President and Inter-Collegiate Competitor 2010-2014. Assistant Team Coach 2015-2023 PSA Registered Rating in Freestyle. ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. Teaches Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Basic Skills, Dance and Off-ice.

ALEX CHILTON

Skating Coach

Alex has been skating at Ice World for 14 years and coaching Learn to Skate and Figure Skating Camps since 2017. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, working on Senior Solo Free Dance, 2 Gold Dances, Intermediate Freestyle, and is a 2 time South Atlantic Regional competitor. Alex is currently studying Human Development and Community Engagement at Temple University. When Alex is not at school and during the summers, she is accepting new students teaching basic skills, Moves in the Field and Ice Dance to skaters of all ages

Rachel Cox

Skating Coach

Rachel Tepper Cox has over 38 years of figure skating coaching experience. As a USFS Triple Gold Medalist in Figures, Freestyle, and Ice Dance, her life spent figure skating has been both a personal and professional passion. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of guiding students through various levels of competition, as well as helping them achieve their Gold Moves in the Field, Gold Freestyle, and Gold Solo Free Dance tests. Rachel is a member of USFSA and PSA. Her coaching philosophy extends beyond the ice rink. With a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and 35 years of experience working in public and non-public schools with children with special needs, Rachel brings a unique perspective to coaching. She believes in the power of individualized coaching strategies that not only cater to a skater’s technical development but also support their overall well-being and confidence. Rachel specializes in teaching Moves in the Field/Skating Skills, Freestyle, and Figures. Her dedication to the sport is further demonstrated through my involvement in leading and coaching edge, figure, field moves, and freestyle seminars, camps, and classes. These experiences have taught her the importance of patience, perseverance, and the joy of achieving one's personal best. Rachel is committed to nurturing the talents of skaters of all ages. Her goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where every skater feels valued and inspired to pursue their dreams with determination and joy.

Nancy Jarvis

Skating Coach

Nancy has over 30 years teaching experience, beginning at the Carousel in Ocean City. She performed in ice shows for 12 years at the Carousel and choreographed for students in the shows. Nancy works with students of varied ages and levels, including adult skaters. She teaches Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and limited Dance. Nancy has coached students at Adult Nationals. She has been a member of PSA for more than 35 years, and is a retired educator from Baltimore County Public Schools.

Kimberly Jones

USFS Gold Medalist in Figures, Freestyle. International/Gold in Dance. Bronze Pairs. Kim is PSA Certified in Freestyle and PSA Master Rated in MIF.

Natalia Jones

Skating Coach

Natalia Jones has 33 years of coaching experience (2022). She coaches all levels of Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Figures, Choreography and off-ice conditioning with special interest in video analysis. Natalia holds a Master’s degree in physical therapy with over 20 years of work experience in the outpatient orthopedic clinic. She combines her expertise and experience as a physical therapist, when she coaches on the ice and runs her off-ice conditioning classes. Natalia’s skating experience consists of competitive figure skating training in singles and pairs in St. Petersburg, Russia; she had a privilege to have been coached by world-level coaches as part of a government-subsidized comprehensive training program. Natalia has coached skaters to medal-winning performances at Regionals, Sectionals and US Figure Skating Nationals, as well as National Collegiate Championships. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Ice Dance.

Alexsandr "Sasha" Kirsanov

Skating Coach

Former international competitor and currently a national and international coach. 8 time National coach, 3 time International coach. Over 20 years coaching experience. USFS Gold Medalist in Partnered Dance and MOves in the Field. Competed for the U.S., Russia and Azerbaijan. Junior World competitor, SGP competitor. U.S. National Senior Dance Teaches Dance, Moves in the Field, Freestyle, Power, Edge, Hockey Skating and choreographer for private programs.

Dawn McNeil

Skating Coach

Dawn McNeil is a USFS Gold Medalist in Figures, Freestyle, and Moves in the Field and has earned her Silver Dances. She was an Eastern Great Lakes Regional Competitor at the Juvenile through Senior levels. Dawn has been coaching all ages for over 25 years, focusing on Freestyle and Moves in the Field.

Kimmie Meissner

Skating Coach

2006 World Champion, 2007 U.S. National Champion, 2007 Four Continents Champion. Kimmie is the first American and first woman to simultaneously hold the World, Four Continents and National titles. Kimmie was the youngest American Olympian on the U.S. 2006 Olympic Team.

Maria Nikol

Skating Coach

USFS Triple Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, Ice Dance and Solo Free Dance. Novice Freestyle and former collegiate competitor. Maria has over 22 years of coaching experience and works with skaters of all ages and levels (4 to adult), with a focus on competitive athletes (advanced video analysis, pole harness and track harness training, and off ice training). B.S in marketing and management and M.S in healthcare law.

Jeffrey Nolt

Skating Coach

Jeffrey Nolt has almost 40 years of coaching experience in: Freestyle, Figures, Moves in the Field, Pairs, Dance, Choreography, group lessons, Theatre On Ice teams & performance troupes, ice show direction & production, seminars and camps. He has coached at the Junior National, Sectional & Regional levels, coached & choreographed for Adult National Champions. Jeffrey competed at the U.S. National Championships in Junior Pairs twice, qualified for a U.S. Sports Festival. He is a USFS Gold Medalist in Pairs, passed 6th Figure, Gold Dance, Junior Freestyle. Jeff is Maryland Ice Theatre Head Coach, Theatre on Ice Director, Senior Rated in Choreography & Certified in Pairs by the Professional Skaters Association. He was a member of the acclaimed ABC Sports Figure Skating Unit for 2 Olympic Games, 4 World Championships, 13 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and various other network projects. Jeff, with sister, Suzannah, was a principal with Ice Capades, Willy Bietak and Charles Schulz and Ted Wilson productions skating nationally and internationally. Coaching fee disclosed upon request.

Heather Piepenburg

Skating Coach

Heather grew up skating in Wisconsin. She has been coaching skaters of all ages, abilities and disciplines including Synchro and Hockey for over 25 years. She was The Skating Director at Ice World for 14 years. Heather is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Singles and Skating Skills, and a Silver Medalist in Partnered Pattern Dance. She was the U.S. Adult National Championship Masters Ladies Silver Medalist in 2008. Heather is a Professional Skaters Association Master Rated Program Director, and is Senior Rated in Freestyle and Certified in Moves in the Field. She is a graduate of Goucher College in the Master of Arts in Teaching program receiving a dual certification in Elementary Education and Special Education. Heather also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Sport Management. In addition, she was nominated to the Teachers of Promise Institute that is operated by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

Suzanne Thomas

Skating Coach

Suzanne has been coaching since 2003. In the past she has coached at Ice World, The Columbia Ice Rink and The Gardens Ice House. Suzanne is a former Adult National competitor. She has one gold and two silver medals in Adult National free-skating. In addition, Suzanne has one gold medal in bronze ice dance plus several gold medals in artistic and interpretive free-skating. She has tested up to Novice freeskate and Novice moves in the field. Coach Thomas holds a B.S. degree from University of Maryland, College Park in Elementary Education.

Eva Yezerets

Skating Coach

Eva grew up skiing in the Midwest and joined Ice World as a senior coach in 2022. Eva fell in love with skating when she was 4 years old and has now been a skater for 20 years! She enjoys coaching people of all ages at the basic skills levels. Learn to skate and private lesson coach. Novice Moves in the Field, with freestyle and ice dance training. She holds a Basic Accreditation rating from the Professional Skaters Association. B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University. Current PhD student, Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins. Natalie Timko

Skating Coach

Natalie grew up skating in Pennsylvania and joined Ice World as a senior coach in 2024. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Skating Skills and Silver Medalist in Singles. Natalie was featured in Stars on Ice in Hershey in 2016. She has a Bachelor's Degree Early Childhood Education. Natalie is currently an elementary school teacher for Harford County Public Schools. She teaches group lessons at the Basic and Freestyles levels and is looking forward to moving towards coaching private Singles and Skating Skills lessons!

Autumn Grimsley

Skating Coach

Autumn has been skating at Ice World for over 11 years. She enjoys coaching people of all ages at the Basic levels. Autumn is a Learn to Skate and private lesson coach. She is at the Silver Singles and Pre Gold Skating Skills level. Autumn was a US Figure Skating regional competitor. She is currently studying Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Delaware. Autumn is accepting new private students of all ages at the basic levels.

coacH TRAINING PROGRAM

This program has been created to encourage skaters who are at least 13 years old to adult and have passed Freeskate 3 to be involved with our Learn to Skate Programs.

The participant will gain volunteer hours, experience, and if interested, become one of our future Senior skate coaches. There are a limited amount of spots for volunteers and training so the interested skater may be wait listed.

The skater themselves must contact our office either in person or via email for an application. Applications will be reviewed as soon as possible and if accepted the participant will receive an email with further instructions.
